Building a kinder kind of leadership
Write and Lead with Gratitude
Passionate for her topic, Lorraine is eager to encourage others to commit to a writing practice that serves their needs as individuals, as thoughtful human beans and people who are active in community.
Side effects of a good gratitude practice that stems from good writing habits include: improved social connections; improved sleep patterns; increased energy levels; decreased stress levels and lower levels of cortisol — also good for heart health.
Lorraine speaks to these topics as well as:
- Writing as a way to calm the mind and regulate emotions
- Writing as a way to process events and package memories — to be forgotten or to be hard wired as motivation in the future
- Writing as a way to build self-awareness, self-acceptance and understanding of the world around
- Writing as an essential life skill for leaders who care about the quality of their relationships
- Writing as an introvert’s tool for showing up with greater confidence, clarity and charm
Call today to find out if your next event might benefit from someone who believes in the power of getting quiet and writing in her journal, before standing up and shouting aloud with gratitude.

Writing longhand is a process for unpacking thoughts in your head by finding words and scribbling on the page. Write. Appreciate. Recalibrate. November 19th. 6:30 -- 8:00 pm. Canmore Library
On Tuesday November 19, I will be joining local Bow Valley authors Lynn Martel and Wilma Rubens in conversation with Nikki Tate. You are invited to bring a friend and enjoy being part of an ongoing conversation about writing, storytelling and the craft of spinning tales to share with readers. How do writers manage to wrangle their big ideas onto the page and distill thoughts into words that become a book? Turns out, no two authors approach the task in the same way. Curious? Be sure to show up at Canmore Library for this Fireside Chat — without the fire. Snacks provided. Books available for purchase.
Giving Tuesday Bow Valley: December 3rd, 2024
Grassroots Gratitude is the community lead for this annual celebration of “generosity uniting communities”. The local organizing committee is convinced that no act of generosity is too small and we encourage everyone to check out GivingTuesday.ca and set your own intention to be part of “the world’s largest generosity movement” on December 3. Bow Valley local advisory committee is hard at work and invite you to join us. In Banff: 9:30 am coffee and muffins at Banff YWCA. In Canmore: 12 noon for soup and nourishment for the soul at St. Michael’s Church in Canmore. Details are being worked out and #givingtuesdaybv will be our hashtag. Stay tuned!
