Building a kinder kind of leadership

Write and Lead with Gratitude
Passionate for her topic, Lorraine is eager to encourage others to commit to a writing practice that serves their needs as individuals, as thoughtful human beans and people who are active in community.
Side effects of a good gratitude practice that stems from good writing habits include: improved social connections; improved sleep patterns; increased energy levels; decreased stress levels and lower levels of cortisol — also good for heart health.
Lorraine speaks to these topics as well as:
- Writing as a way to calm the mind and regulate emotions
- Writing as a way to process events and package memories — to be forgotten or to be hard wired as motivation in the future
- Writing as a way to build self-awareness, self-acceptance and understanding of the world around
- Writing as an essential life skill for leaders who care about the quality of their relationships
- Writing as an introvert’s tool for showing up with greater confidence, clarity and charm
Call today to find out if your next event might benefit from someone who believes in the power of getting quiet and writing in her journal, before standing up and shouting aloud with gratitude.
Community Leadership
W/RITER-ly Pause'Pivot (with a w/riter)
My morning ritual is grounded in quiet time spent at my desk. Over 10,000 hours of writing and my realization is that this is a process. It’s not necessarily about polishing anything, rather my writing ritual is personal, a kind of self-talk and pep talk in order to recalibrate and refresh my motivation buttons.
Join me for a year-end pause and see what you can convince yourself is w/rite. What one word can you talk away in order to reflect, contemplate, inspire and motivate yourself as you move into 2025? I have no idea what’s going on in your life. Do you?
Time to take a breather. Jot some notes related to where you are starting; how you are ending; what’s shifting or settling, and what is taking your attention as you hit reset on your seasonal dials.
Let’s do this w/rite — writing can become a great ritual as you set out on the w/rite foot. lorraine@grassrootsgratitude.
Wednesday December 31, 2024.
On Zoom.
Quiet desk and confidential internet connection required
9:30 am MT.
$75. includes my two books.
$50. if you choose to sign up for the workshop only.

Invite me to present to your group on the topic of Leadership and Pausing to Write with Gratitude.
Do you have a group that is interested in exploring the power of a writing pause? Contact me today. Ask about my not-for-profit rate for groups working in the Lake Louise to Exshaw corridor. Travel beyond the corridor or presenting virtually is also more than possible — it’s highly probable and desirable!
Online Writing Workshop -- Curious? Get in touch!
FREE WRITING –– In advance of National Philanthropy Day, I hosted an online workshop advocating for free-writing as a creative act. Grounding the conversation in some ABC’s, we wrote and linked our thoughts to memories and acknowledged the negativity biases that sometimes hide the good stuff. Writing longhand is a process for unpacking thoughts in your head by finding words and scribbling on the page. Write. Appreciate. Recalibrate. Contact me and let’s talk about supporting you on your writing journey. It’s a process!
THANKS to Fireside Chatters who joined me at the Canmore Library
Thanks to April Post, Nikki Tate, Chris Nykoluk and fellow authors Lynn Martel and Wilma Rubens. We had a great conversation and heard three different approached to how we write, tell our stories and approach our craft of spinning tales in order to share with readers. If you know someone who is looking for an author to show up and talk about writing, the importance of morning ritual and how I hope to influence change in the world, please contact me today! Gratitude is a form of activism, you know.
